How to access your email
Every Colynx
account comes with an email account @colynx.com.
example:
If your Colynx username were "john" then your colynx.com
email address would be "john@colynx.com".
This email
account can be checked using any of the following methods:
Pine (Gold
members only)
Webmail
IMAP
POP3
Members hosting one or more domains at Colynx can also create
custom email accounts at their domain. These accounts can
either forward mail to a different email address or be accessed
directly using one of the methods above. To access the account
directly use the account's full email address as your username.
example:
You are hosting the domain example.com at Colynx. You have
defined user1@example.com which is configured to store its
mail on the mail server. To check mail sent to user1@example.com
you will use user1@example.com as your username and the password
you defined for this specific address as your password.
How to access your email using Pine
Login to
the server by pointing your SSH client to strife.colynx.com.
Once logged in, type: pine. You will be prompted for your
username. Just hit Enter to accept the default which is
your username. When prompted for your password enter your
account password. You can now browse your mail folders.
How to access your email using Webmail
Open a web
browser and browse to http://webmail.colynx.com. Login
using your account username and password. You can now browse
your mail folders.
How to access your email using IMAP or POP3
Configure
your mail client to use mail.colynx.com for your incoming
mail server. Configure it to authenticate using your account
username and password. For your outgoing SMTP mail server
you may use your Internet provider's outgoing mail server
or (if your provider does not block SMTP) you can use mail.colynx.com.
If you use mail.colynx.com then enable authentication for
your outgoing mail. The username/password for outgoing
mail is the same as incoming mail.
